Fun place to work but unreliable hours and competitive.

It's a fun job, but the issue is no one really trains you and you have to call customer service to get issues sorted. They can be fast or slow depending on time of day and demand. There's also the issue of it's like uber how you have to rely on ratings. If one person rates you bad your numbers will drop and you never know what you did wrong to fix whatever the mistake was. So if someone just doesn't like you for no reason then they can give you a bad review and that'll hit you.

Very flexible and easy.

Allowed me to work when I wanted or needed to. The hardest part of the job was if a customer would not respond but that is not the company at fault. Gave me a sense of helpfulness within my community.

Without tips you will be losing money

It’s flexible but there are few jobs on my side of town. So the option would be to drive to a different area and sit in the car, waiting for notifications. In the winter in the Midwest, no.

Flexible schedule and Nice pay

So far so good! The area I’m in has awesome customers and great promos! My experience so far has been great! I feel like if you want more you have to go get it, however my customers are literally like 5-15min away so it’s very easy. You have to understand if you do the right things and enjoy shopping than this is the job for you. I tell everyone I know “ONLY YOU CAN GET YOURSELF FIRED”! Every job big or small has pros and cons once you understand what you are doing wrong fix it! That’s all it takes! I work when I can I’m a nurse full time and my compassion/mission is helping people so I enjoy SHIPT because I’m helping those who can’t get to the store when they need to or have a disability. If you don’t enjoy what you do than you won’t stay find something exciting about!!!

Was great at first, but they will deactivate without warning

At first I loved working for Shipt. It allowed me to make money around my busy schedule. However, after working there for less than a month I was abruptly deactivated without warning or explanation. This was after a customer called and complained and requested their order be cancelled due to the lack of their requested items in the store. It was 11pm on a Sunday night after a holiday weekend with a big sale, of course the store was wiped out, they didn't like the replacements. The next day I received an email that I had been deactivated, and it said "we don't know why Shipt makes these decisions". I'm sorry, are you not Shipt emailing me right now? Every attempt to reach out for an explanation was ignored and I was refused answers. I have had MANY people reach out to me with similar stories. Even people with many orders and a 5 star rating. They only care about customer retention, it doesn't matter if you have thousands of 5 star ratings, if you have one complaint you can be deactivated, and it's not just me it has happened to. It provides flexibility, but not stability. I would definitely not recommend.

You are disposable

I was removed as a shopper with no notice and no reason. They inform you via email. App and payment card issues. Calling HQ and sitting on hold for 15 mins to resolve any issues puts you behind and makes your delivery late and these are counted against you. Long story short! As long as you are wearing yourself and your car out they are happy until they aren’t.

You get out of it what you put into it

It’s a very flexible job and you can do as much or as little as you want. You have to take money out for your taxes because it’s not automatic. You get direct deposit weekly. You need a reliable vehicle and a good phone. You earn as much money as you are motivated to earn. To be successful you must be willing to shop multiple locations and not get too hung up on the customer ratings.

Termination without explanation

Unfair job circulation on schedule. After one shop you suddenly get reconginized and get other shop requests, but that's after putting yourself on schedule staring at phone all day. Termination with no explanation. Also late orders due to shoot long hold time for not finding cards.

only pro is flexibility

you never know how many orders your going to get. it completely hit or miss. its so much wear and tear on your vehicle for ver minimal payment. the only good thing is if you need to not work that totally at your discretion.

Driving further and further

The opportunity to Shipt was fun in the beginning. Very supportive. A lot of the customers no matter how big of a smile and how on time you were with delivery they had an issue. A lot of issue were due to app but also it was because were unavailable in their area. Several time I was driving more and more to deliver items with very low pay.

what a horrible company to work for.

Pay is very low for them always expecting you to go above and beyond. It doesnt matter how good your ratings are they will fire you for anything at anytime. The charge the customer a huge markup and pass very little of that onto the shopper. The app functions horrible and the company does nothing to fix it. They have facebook groups that you will get banned from if you say anything critical. Like "the pay on this order seems unfair" BANNED. Its a cult of people who search for shoppers willing to work for next to nothing.

It's really fun but there are no guarantees for daily work

I really like the concept and being able to communicate with the customers to meet their needs. Some customers tip extremely well and others do not top at all. Overall, this is a really fun part time job.

Flexible Hours and Pay is good.

You can make your own schedule and the pay is good. You also get to meet and help many people in the community. The other shoppers are very helpful with any questions you may have.
