Professional Dog Stylist

Stroudsburg, PA - March 5, 2020

I've been with the company for over 10 years.

I've been with petsmart, for over 10 years. I worked from a position as a cashier to a career as a dog groomer. I absolutely love my job. Petsmart has been a big part of my life.

Bather/Groomer

Harrisonburg, VA - March 5, 2020

Bather in grooming department

Loved my salon leader and most of the women I worked with. Managers in merchandising were very disrespectful to the employees when the salon leader was not present. The job itself was very fast paced but a pleasure to have all the different breeds coming through the door. Built a clientele very fast!

I love it I know every manger in the three stores that are close to me. They are all friendly and care. I would never regret getting that job lived every minute.

Quick turnover

I like working for the company. We do get discounts. Company also owns Chewy.com and is associated with The Banfield Pet Hospital. Wellness Plans are offered for our pets. I recommend it.

Pet Stylist/Groomer

Torrance, CA - March 5, 2020

Overall okay

I love working with animals and making them look good, but it can become hectic especially if it’s a high volume store. I enjoy my coworkers but the salon is sadly really small and sometimes uncomfortable to work in.

Pet Care Associate

Fort Myers, FL - March 4, 2020

Love it here!

You definitely Need an inside recommendation to get in this job most the time but if you can actually get in you’ll absolutely love it. This job is definitely for people who love all animals and can deal with rude customers who think they’re so special they deserve to have the rules bent for them. Management is 10/10 and nip any type of drama or problems in the butt. Absolutely love the environment here.

Asistant

Miami, FL - March 4, 2020

Overall, Petsmart has a really good work space

I was very happy to work there, there's a time in the week when an organization goes with cats and dogs so they can get adopted and I found that is the most precious thing petsmart can do for animals. Just let them be there, yes!

Sales Associate

Manteca, CA - March 4, 2020

Fun place to work if you love animals

I loved certain parts of the job when i was working for petsmart. Having constant interaction with dogs and cats on a daily basis was bliss. I was trained on many things including; grooming techniques, coat differences, dog breeds, first aid for animals, trim nails, and proper bathing etiquette. These skills I still use at home with my own animals and I am grateful for that experience. On the other side of the coin though, management can be flaky. The grooming department is different then working in the general store. All in all not a bad place to work.

Productive, easy, and fun work place

I feel like it's really a relaxing place to work. Especially if you enjoy working with animals. I definitely learn something everyday. If you prefer to stay in one spot for a while and make quick transactions with customers, I recommend cashiering here!

The best retail job I had.

I’ve held several retail management positions, Petsmart happens to be the best one. Many opportunities and if you have a need to help others, this is the company for you!

Pet Groomer

College Station, TX - March 2, 2020

Very good company

I enjoyed my time working in grooming at Petsmart and loved working at the front as cashier some days. I mainly was a groomer and i absolutely loved working with dogs and making them perfect for their parents! Seeing the pups come in and leaving as new beautiful fur babies was always the best part. The only bad part was they didn't give me enough hours and then my boyfriend passed away and i just could not stay there anymore.

Sometimes fun

Great place to work, you can learn a lot here if you pit your mind to it but it is just a job. Management was okay most of the time. Put your schedule in early.

Dog Bather

Arlington, TX - February 28, 2020

Bad

I would constantly be overbooked. As a bather I did not make commission and was overbooked without being consulted. This would put me behind and cause customer complaints. I was bullied by my other employees and was never thanked for anything I did although making the most money for the salon.

Cashier/Sales Associate

Woodhaven, MI - February 28, 2020

It’s ok

Some of the managers are young, and on a power trip. The managers buddy buddy up with certain employees and let them do whatever they want. The hours are not good if you’re looking to put in a decent amount of hours.

StoreManager

Indianapolis, IN - February 28, 2020

Great work place if you love pets and people

Petsmarrt is still a retail job so you are going to have to do physical labor and guest service. At Petsmart the customer is always right even if they are not right. Petsmart is like other retailers and their are a lot of numbers to hit. However, the leaders that I encountered were some of the leaders that I have ever worked for. The leaders did in fact care about pets, people and my team and I. PetSmart did leave the stock market and they were bought out by a private company. There have been a lot of changes as a result of this buy out. I still know some of the leaders in upper management and they do greatly care for the teams. One of the most awesome aspects of working at Petsmart is the PetSmart Charities and the adoptions that they do. They have saved so many lives of pets in the community. Also, PetSmart has an amazing human resource team that is fair.
