Morning Stocker

Bronx, NY - May 13, 2020

No a long term employment choice.

Kmart is ok if you only want to work for them for a short period. The employees and customers alike are very rude. Nothing that is done above work description is appreciated.

Des Plaines, IL - May 13, 2020

Customer Service Representative

Statesville, NC - May 13, 2020

Do not work here!

The work environment is not good, and you are paid minimum wage. So, if you want to get an apartment or rent a house, this job will not make that happen. No job security; high turnover rate; and management does not care one way or the other.

Cincinnati, OH - May 12, 2020

Not fun or worthwhile.

Not a great place to work. Low pay scale for the amount of work you are expected to complete. Poor benefits such as medical and dental plus time off. Not a lot of room for advancement.

Hardlines Merchandiser

Athens, TN - May 11, 2020

Great first job

I loved working here. Great first job to have. The coworkers were great. The work wasn't bad. Pay wasn't great but if you're young and you don't have many bills it's okay.

Human Resource Representative

Manteno, IL - May 10, 2020

Will not get full hours

Would routinely hire people knowing that they probably would not get 40 hours in a week. Management were trying but did not agree with hiring additional people for the 2 days they needed.

Lake Port California, Cashier, Greeter, and Cart Attendant

Lakeport, CA - May 8, 2020

It was just a job

I worked here to help pay for my ffa animals in high school I got treated real poorly by my employees but I didn’t quit because I needed to money and wanted to get out of the house I quit because I was getting ready to graduate and I was also moving to Chico the management was bad as well but I got through it as if it was just another day.

Hardlines Manager

Grass Valley, CA - May 8, 2020

bankrupt corporation with only intentions for profit

Management of this corporation is crooked, loss prevention and HR are horrible. Only encouraged to gain profit, and markups of inventory are 900-1500% on average.

Recieving Associate

Oxon Hill, MD - May 6, 2020

Job experience

The job experience is good but it was a bad experience going back to management that didn't respect nor appreciated u. They did show disrespect in the backroom when approached. The workers were more knowledgeable than management of the store than them? Basically it's always their way.

Replenish driver

Company closed warehouse

Bad business decisions . I learned a lot from Kmart. Good and bad . Overall I had a great experience . I’ve had the privilege of working with a lot of great people. I will always cherish that experience.

Overnight Stock Associate

New York, NY - May 4, 2020

Precipitous drop of Kmart

Kmart started as an employee-centered organization but change in management led to an unfortunate yet steady decline in the quality of everything associated with the company.

Service Manager

El Paso, TX - May 2, 2020

I was respected as a person.

I loved that I had support and a boss to encourage me. I learned many different departments and was able to assist in any of the departments. Holidays were big and the team came together to help each other out.

Customer Service

Kearney, NE - April 30, 2020

Job was a joke

Kmart was SUCH a joke! Things were so disorganized and people got away with things that they shouldn't have! They claimed to be diverse yet there was hidden bigotry in the behaviors of workers.

Sales Associate

Carson, CA - April 29, 2020

nice place to work

nice place to work at. Very good management and lovely employees. The management takes care of its employees. The work environment is really good and awesome

Lebanon, PA - April 29, 2020

Can’t seem to keep any open.

The managers and owner cared more about money than the well being of customers and workers most of the time. Which lead to them closing down in most locations. For me work was easy cutting boxes open and stocking was enjoyable, I liked moving around a lot throughout my day and would like a job like it.

Customer Service Associate

Bloomington, IN - April 29, 2020

Holiday help

I only work to do the Christmas holiday in the layaway department which was exhausting because it was up a huge flight of stairs. We had to carry the products that were put into layaway up the stairs to keep the products for the customers and when they came to pick them up but we had to carry it all back down. Years later I still have trouble with my knee pain due to the constant need to go up and down those stairs throughout my shift. Location has currently closed since then.

Was a great place to work for

I was always busy and learning something new every day, I enjoyed being part of their team. I was assigned to Menswear dept. where I did Plan o gram set ups. Later I became in charge of the Footwear dept. and also became a Key carrier, which gave me more responsibility. I loved my job.

Rotterdam, NY - April 25, 2020

They are now closed

It was a fast paced, fun environment. The company is now closed. It was a great learning experience. A great store missed by many. Management were very understanding and flexible with hours and pay.
