JCPenney Sales Associate

Kennewick, WA - May 13, 2020

People are rude

Management is rude and y’all behind the employees back behind them. Customers are disrespectful no security to stop them besides management! Coworkers talk behind your back about you!

Shoe Salesman/Cashier/Stockroom Helper

Oklahoma City, OK - May 13, 2020

The Management

The management team only thought about themselves, there were a lot of corruption going on right before our eyes, even then nobody showed there was nothing wrong with it.

Customer Service Specialist

Silverdale, WA - May 13, 2020

Great place to work

I enjoyed working at JCP! I was hired during the holiday season and was lucky enough to be offered a permanent position after the holidays. I worked in the men's department and really liked it, it was not as busy as the women's and juniors departments. My coworkers were awesome, I have no complaints. Management was good, they were fair and always available when needed. I wouldn't mind working there again for a little extra holiday money.

Sales Associate/Customer Service

Ashwaubenon, WI - May 13, 2020

Stay away like the plague!

Place has NO room for advancement, pay is HORRIBLE & they ARE NOT people friendly!! Stay away like the plague! Unless you want to work long hours for little pay!

Sales Associate

Phoenix, AZ - May 13, 2020

Not that great

Even if this was a temporary job they could have been nicer to me on my first day instead of practically feeding me to the wolves. The HR manager had no idea how to do her job and was always messing up the time sheets and did not have any communication to the temporary employees at all. They didn't even call to tell me that I had been laid off of the temp job I had to call them after two weeks of no shifts or communications. Not to mention fellow employees seemed upset and even fed up that they had to teach someone who has had no previous job experience how to do basic things that "you should already know" like how to use a cash register.

Merchandise Manager

Lansing, MI - May 13, 2020

Worst Company

They don’t care about their employees. They don’t give you any direction on task. Manages just sit in the office doing nothing. Once you do a floor set they make you redo it

Sales Associate

Dearborn, MI - May 13, 2020

It was a great company when i was there.

The time that I was there I enjoyed my time helping my co workers and customer's. Helping customers with there question's and just providing them with excellent service.

Loss Prevention Officer / Support

Hagerstown, MD - May 13, 2020

Going Down

Penney's has been struggling for years. You can tell more by the lack of employees they have in the store. In the past Penneys had great teams working together and making the customers happy. Now it's a struggle with making employees satisfied and customers happy.

Merchandise Execution Associate

Wellington, FL - May 13, 2020

I loved working at my location

I worked good hours and was paid for it. Management was fair. I was able to get to know some of my favorite customers from work at that location. I met a lot of great co-workers.

Sales Associate

Miami, FL - May 13, 2020

Flexible schedule, nice coworkers and management, good benefits even for partners, employee discounts

Great job while in high school or college, flexible schedule, no stress, fun coworkers, can swap shifts, great employee discounts, good benefits, management was nice

Front Desk Receptionist

Maumee, OH - May 12, 2020

I loved my coworkers but how the store is ran to how the salon is ran is different.

I loved my time at J.C. Penney Salon. The only reason I left was because I needed to spend more time focusing on school. The salon was very held back and very nice to work at but the second the store managers came back, it got stressful. They always wanted me to work out at the store registers but I was hired for salon receptionist. They always pushed you to talk about their credit card, even if you know the customer and they don’t want one or already have one.

Cashier/Sales Associate

Ann Arbor, MI - May 12, 2020

Good place to work

I appreciated them hiring senior citizens, I really liked working for them over the holidays, I love their products, the Ann Arbor store was clean and well organized. Management and employees friendly and helpful. I really liked working with the customers , the bad thing about JCPENNEY is if you are hired as a cashier they put more emphasis on getting credit card applications than catering to the customers. They have 10 minutes meeting every morning and 8 out of the 10 min they talk about getting credit applications. I left because I thought I was hired for cashiering and customers assistance not to push credit card applications.

Merchandise Associate

Alexandria, LA - May 12, 2020

Fun and encouraging

This job was absolutely amazing. I loved resetting floors and meeting new people. The managers were absolutely unprofessional and picked and choose favorites.

Sales Manager/Supervisor

Wellington, FL - May 12, 2020

Great staff

The company has a long standing tradition of great customer service. The employees enjoy a good relationship with management and the atmosphere is friendly. The environment is clean and the cuasomer base is mostly friendly an loyal. Customers have been patronizing this establishment for many years and the company has tried to adapt to their individual needs.

Sales Associate

Sioux Falls, SD - May 12, 2020

Poor Management, High Turnover Rate, Poor Flexibility

I joined JCP as a part-time job during high school, and for my graduation, they didn't even let me take time off. They were also the same JCP that had a scandal with their dress code 5-6 years ago.

Sales Associate

Taylor, MI - May 11, 2020

Terrible place to work

3 different managers will tell you to do 3 different things within ten minutes and then be mad you didn’t do everything they wanted. They don’t hire/ keep people of color. Lots of teenage drama between managers and games being played. Very little training. Forced to get a certain number of credit card applicants or you get in trouble and then fired. Lots of favoritism. Security will call and ask you to check on poc in the fitting rooms.

Retail Sales Associate

California, MD - May 11, 2020

Shoe consultant

Loved working in the retail environment and exceeding sales quotas. Was able to train and manage the new employees and the people worked there and build a rapport with both the customers and employees

Columbia, MO - May 11, 2020

Good place to work.

It depends on the store it is a fairly nice place to work. Management tends to care about employees and will listen to problems. On the negative side you do a lot of standing and walking.
