Late stage tech
Instacart is everything I thought it would be, both good and bad. Similar to any high growth environment, there are constant time crunches with unrealistic expectations. I enjoy and dislike this at the same time :).

Instacart Life
Very nice work environment, everything State of the Art. The office is located inside The Ponce City Market and has amazing views. There is a patio deck for employees to work from that has Cabanas. It is really nice, you can see the entire Beltline from the deck. Most employees spend their breaks out there. Did I mention Free Snacks? The company offers free snacks and drinks (unlimited).

Not paying for work expected
They started out paying good, by the hour and a service bonus and then changed the pay rate to by the hour only but still expect the same quality of work.
Customer Service
San Francisco, CA - March 4, 2020
Pretty good
Other than the fact that they withheld benefits for the longest time and then after the class action lawsuit only paid out pennies on the dollar, pretty okay.

ok work place
on demand is terrible. The hour system before was great. The pay is shotty for the actual amount of work you perform. Employee help from instacart is terrible.

In Store Shopper
I think the flexibility is the best part of it all. Then with my amazing team we work together to ensure no hours are left unmet all orders are completed!

Great part-time job
This job is good. As a single mom, I have the flexibility to work around my daughter's school hours. I can pick up jobs in the evenings or weekends if needed. My only complaints are that you have to realistically drive about 150 miles in a day. The jobs are spread out, the pay averages about $10-16/hr. Some people don't tip. The tips are what you live on. I've had jobs where you shop and only get paid $7 to shop and deliver...not worth it. But you can choose which jobs you want to take. They dont always give you a realistic time to complete your shopping like at cosco. Cosco isnt like cub foods. Some stores give you the aisle number and others like cosco and hyvee, you have to search to find stuff and things arent always in logical places so it wastes time. . With occasional jobs that pay $20-30+ . You need a trolly for some business jobs, and it can wreck your shocks from all the weight.

Chicago, IL - February 27, 2020
Easy to use, good app to have.
Helped me make extra money and kept me afloat when I didn’t have a job. Good customers and good support from the company. Great stores that you might want to shop at for yourself.
Shopper/Delivery Driver
San Francisco, CA 94107 - February 27, 2020
Grocery shopping and delivery of items to customers
The most enjoyable part of Instacart is that I have my own schedule. A typical day depends on how quick you are to accept incoming requests to shop for customers. Depending on how popular the application is in your area, that may be the reason you are busy or not each day.
Fulll service shopper/Independent Contractor
Seattle, WA - February 26, 2020
Good vs. Bad
Starts out great. Customer service staff are helpful and ready to please. Pay is not too bad. You do need to be able to quickly determine if taking a batch is worth it. For, example driving 10 miles to the store (unpaid) to pick up 50+ items and drive another 10 miles to the delivery point all for $10-15. Dont expect Instacart to abide by the contract they make you sign. Or for their employees to even know what it says. If you are looking for answers you are better off finding them yourself. Dont expect any fairness. Their mentality is if you don't agree we will eliminate you.

It's Instacart.
As a supplementary source of income for those who have a maintenance free vehicle and like grocery shopping, it's great. The best thing about the job was seeing parts of my town and meeting people that I wouldn't normally have done.
Shopper
San Francisco, CA - February 26, 2020
Horrible company
Worst job that I ever had. The policies and pay ridiculous. They are run by the shopper service team that is outsourced to the Philippines. The company doesn't care at all about the shopper.

I was thankful to have this job when I was not working in my field of work. I did enjoy working here and it was always and adventure, I am a friendly person so I did also enjoy meeting new people every day. This job was also very convenient because I could get paid eery day instead of weekly when I was in need for money for one reason or another.

Horrible company
They keep ur tips. Then when u question them about, they lie to you. They low ball you on bacthes and u constantly have to be calling customer service so they can adjust it pay that they owe u. Shoppers who have been shopping for a while know exactly what I'm talking bout.

Hard work with a lot of challenges
The clock, the replacements and the stock of the store can make or break you. If you are uncomfortable with a cell phone and texting customers regarding replacements this job isn't for you
Independent Contractor
San Antonio, TX - February 22, 2020
Flexible Work
I was a Independent Contractor for this company and my job was to grocery shop for customers and deliver the items to their homes. I was able to communicate via text with each individual customer to provide the best customer service.

Run
If you like working for pennies this is the job for you, if not run before you get sucked in. Years ago this was the place to be, now you rarely make $10 an hour and you put a ton of wear and tear on your car.
