Assistant Manager

Red Lodge, MT - March 5, 2020

Not a good company to its employees

Management doesnt care they put the blame on their employees when numbers arent satisfactory... No true opportunities to fix mistakes made and you get write ups for things you didnt even know you were doing anything wrong... Then one more mistake they fire you

Store Manager

Colorado Springs, CO - March 5, 2020

Don't Waste Your Time

In my time with family dollar, I worked as a store manager and an assistant manager. Being an assistant manager isn't all that bad if you have a good district manager and store manager to back you up. But expect to never get 40 hours a week. I have dealt with mice, bugs, blown up stock rooms, irate customers, disgusting backrooms/bathrooms. Worked 70 hours a week as a store manager with absolutely no benefits. They dont train you on how to use your vacation time. In fact, they didnt even train me on how to be a store manager. And then blame the employees that are working as hard as they can for the stores failing. Its. Not. worth. Your. Time.

Assistant Store Manager

Chester, PA - March 5, 2020

Needs better management training and safety trainings.

Store Manager

Summersville, WV - March 5, 2020

Not enough benefits

DM was very helpful but well enough training is not provided. Pretty good benefits pay should be increased for sm are not enough home time for family.

Charlotte, NC - March 5, 2020

Compensation not worth it

This job does NOT pay their employees enough for the strenuous work that is required of you. The company also doesn't provide the best benefits depending on your position. Would never work here again.

Sales Associate

Green Bay, WI - March 5, 2020

Family Dollar Cashier

Lansing, IL - March 5, 2020

Family dollar

Working at family dollar has made me grown a lot. It was my first job and I loved it. It made me learn a lot and it changed me as a person. It was teaching me how to be a adult. And I loved how much it opened me up.

Assistant Store Manager

Converse, TX - March 4, 2020

No balance

As assistant manager always on call. Not much balance of work and family. Raises are only once a year but with no real incentive to work harder since the same raise was awarded to others in position.

Assistant Manager

Tampa, FL - March 4, 2020

Not for me

I cant give an honest review. I worked here during a bad place in my life. I did get many benefits of the doubt. And as long as you're honest and hard working then tou can grow.

Customer Service Representative

Philadelphia, PA - March 4, 2020

Family dollar is not a job it just a honest waste of time the only call when they need people to work truck days but other than that they don’t give out hours or weekly schedules

Oil City, PA - March 4, 2020

A typical day

A typical day at Family Dollar very routine

New Orleans, LA - March 4, 2020

Slow paced

It’s a good morning job that pays a nice amount , this job is good if you don’t like to get dirty. It’s simple unloading trucks stocking merchandise on to shelves.

PT Assistant Store Manager

Chicago Heights, IL - March 4, 2020

Customers are always right no matter what.

Customer satisfaction is their number one priority, no matter what. The do not take steps to make sure employees are safe and secure. They believe in utilizing the bear minimum in staffing to complete every function of the store. Only two employees per store are required to handle every aspect of store operations.

Rockford, IL - March 3, 2020

Work you death. With little or no communications from upper management. Expect you to work ungodly hrs. Working people alone in a risk class 4 store. Very hard to hired a decent employees. Due to taking sometime over a month to get backgrounds back. When you call corp office you sit on phone on hold somtimes for hrs at a time. Gettin

Its Neutral

Having a good team of workers is its good and being able to be consistant with the quality of product they put out along with having clean friendly store. The bad is that they dont have a union and they dont pay enough when your doing your job and others.
