Fun and Productive Work Environment

Working at best buy you not only meet a vast majority of individuals but you also make some friends along the way and you become knowledgeable about things you've never even thought of just by being there.

Friendly coworkers

Most coworkers are friendly however management hired me for one position but would constantly put me on registers since they had a cashier quit but would not replace that cashier.

Sales Associate

Joplin, MO - March 5, 2020

My favorite job hands down.

I feel like y’all wanna hear the negatives about working for a company on here, however I’m here to tell you I have absolutely no negative things to say about my time at Best Buy. Management was great, they taught me several life skills I use on a day to day basis. Pay was more than fair for the line of work, being that I enjoyed it. Training isn’t the best, so know your stuff before getting hired, it’s a tech company, what do you expect.

Site Administrative Specialist

Richfield, MN - March 5, 2020

Driving results at all costs

Best Buy has created a culture centered around profitable business at the expense of the employee experience. There are few/no opportunities for bonuses for hourly employees, career advancement can only be approached how the leaders see fit, and going the extra mile is expected but not rewarded. The company cares about employee feedback, but only feedback they are prepared to hear.

A good seasonal job to help tide you over in your job hunt.

Work was pretty fun, and they were flexible enough to help me with what I had going on in my outside life. I did have to work Thanksgiving night, however.

SWAT Inventory Specialist

Orlando, FL - March 4, 2020

We had fun AND we were the best!

Honestly, working for Best Buy, though it was a retail job, accounts for some of the best times of my life. The culture, depending upon managers, had it's ups and downs, but it was light-hearted, while still encouraging an environment where our hard work to payed off. Mostly. As is true for anything, the people we surround ourselves with can make or break a situation. Best Buy has had some of the absolute best people on the planet. One of the hardest parts about working for Best Buy are the (sometimes) unrealistic expectations customers may have for the blue shirts. I learned a lot about myself during my nine years with the company, and while I'd take a day back here or there, I met lifelong friends, had experiences I may never have had without my exposure to the Big Blue Box, and am still a loyal customer today.

Recovery Operations Agent

Hillview, KY - March 4, 2020

Good People - Toxic Environment

It's all easy work. Decent benefits. Pay could be better. Communication between line levels - management - corporate is horrible. Glaring issues usually take months if not years to get addressed. A lot of redundant and ineffective policies. Horrible rumor and gossip mill.

Cheektowaga, NY - March 4, 2020

Employees are not held accountable

Management don't like to lose employees so most of them are never held accountable no matter how bad they are. In field services your also never scheduled lunch breaks but most of us work quickly to give our selves a break in the day.

Its decent Depending on what Department your in

Depending on the department you can either have a fun time or bad time either due to the manger or the coworkers. Because either your good at your job and its easy to sell or not

Computers sales associate/ Customer service expert/ Backup Back office lead

Saint Peters, MO - March 3, 2020

Its wonderful, at first.

It's a great place to work but if you really want to move up in the company you basically need to start in a lead position. There's lots to learn and gain experience with even just as sales or front end operations.
