You can’t put a price on the culture of ace

The culture of ace is more important that your personal life, health and relationships For most of the year you work 40 hrs a week and under. If there isn’t enough work you get the opportunity to go home without pay or disciplinary action for doing so. For 3-5 months out of the year you will work 40-70hrs a week. sometimes You’ll work 6 days a week for entire months

Management needs work

I loved the job. But if you are sick, or appointment it's frowned on. I learned everything that was asked, yet to do propane they knew the danger and still had you do it without being certified. Not all Ace hardware's are like that.

Front Counter Cashier

Rapid City, SD - May 7, 2020

Fun, fast, ambitious. A great place to be.

I've only been there so far for a short while, the return process on the computer isn't coming easily to me. But every day I go into work, I feel mostly happy and grateful. Fast paced and the days go by fast. I am also very thankful to my manager and almost all of the other employees. It's a great fit for me, and I appreciate every day that I am there at ACE.

Retail Associate

Ashland, OR - May 7, 2020

Its like a family. Awesome and sometimes quirky.

Ace Hardware has been one of my favorite jobs. It is stable with regular work hours which has been a really important aspect of supporting me through my Masters program. Working in the field was not always stable or consistent. It is relatively easy, and the management has chosen a really harmonious team. We all work fairly well together and step up to the task. They are creative about meeting the tasks at hand, and I am impressed with how well they have adapted to our current circumstances to ensure the survival of the establishment.

If you can stand on your feet from 10-12 hours a day in heat or cold, Move at a fast pace you can earn a lot of money. The only downfall to the company is it needs to support the customers. They lack compassion for their workforce that spends 50-70 hours a week there. The company runs on an outdated computer system that needs updating. One day you can work at a normal pace and receive a high output percentage for the day. The next day you work hard only to walk out lower than the day previous.

It’s just not good. The manager was horrible. They had their little puppy dog and that’s all they cared about. I hated it so much. They only care about themselves

River Edge, NJ - April 30, 2020

Productive Workplace constantly changing to achieve customer appeal

Working at Ace Hardware was a great opportunity for me to start my work experience. I started as a cashier for about 4 months. Quickly after this I was transferred to the floor, where I worked I received training in the paint department. From there, after helping customers all around the store I gained knowledge in multiple different fields. I would cut keys, make paint, cut glass, assemble products order by customers (grills, wheel barrels, swing sets, sheds, etc). Working at the store allowed me to gain a lot of skills in conversing with customers. Additionally I gained a general knowledge of many different fields like plumbing, electrical, paint, gardening, keys, hardware, household cleaning products, grilling, shades, etc. Working at Palmer Ace Hardware was a great experience where I gained a lot of knowledge in different areas in a few short years.
