The company is now hiring people to store shelves, clean stores and meet a surge in mobile orders placed using its 7NOW delivery app. On March 20, 7-Eleven announced that it plans to recruit up to 20,000 new store workers around the country to meet the rising demand from the COVID-19 pandemic.

HomeAdvisor is looking for employees

The nation’s largest retail hardware cooperative has launched a huge hiring surge. With 75% of Americans residing within 15 minutes of the Ace Hardware site, demand was strong during the coronavirus shutdown.

The organization and its independent retailers will add 30,000 jobs, with a combination of full-time, part-time and seasonal staff to 4,300 independently owned stores throughout the U.S.

CVS has reported one of the largest coronavirus-related hiring surges in the world. The business reports that the number of drug orders is up to 300 per cent, and shops are filled with consumers who buy food and medical products along with household goods.

Dollar General did not speak about numbers, but issued a statement saying, “We currently have a range of full and part-time positions available through our stores, distribution centers and the private fleet network for any person whose job has been temporarily affected by the impact of COVID-19.”

Pizza Hut announced that it has 30,000 permanent open roles to fill, including chefs, managers and shift managers. The company claims that its 24-slice “Big Dipper” pizza has become especially popular with families that have been shut down because of coronavirus.

Location of new jobs: North America

Instacart has announced that it will employ an unprecedented 300,000 full-time employees to cope with competition in North America. This is expected to be 54,000 in California alone. In addition, Instacart says that it will offer up to 14 days of extended compensation for any full-service or in-store shopper diagnosed with COVID-19, or required to quarantine or self-isolate.

There has been a large rise in home package deliveries of Americans practicing social distancing, operating from home and self-isolating. FedEx organized a job fair to fill 500 permanent, part-time vacancies at its World Hub in Memphis.
